Why it matters
Without a floor, automated repricers can drop prices to win competitive auctions, sometimes below cost. auto_pricing_min_price ensures the algorithm can be aggressive within bounds without destroying unit economics.
The floor that prevents automated repricers from dropping price below profitable levels. Set above cost (at least preserving minimum contribution margin per unit) but flexible enough to compete in auctions.
The strategic context: Google's Smart Bidding and third-party repricers can adjust price dynamically to win auctions. Without a floor, they can drop price below profitability to win conversions that lose money. auto_pricing_min_price tells the algorithm "compete down to here but no further".
The number to set: roughly 1.15-1.3× COGS, depending on category. Items with high return rates need wider buffer; items with low returns can sit closer to cost. Round numbers; don't try to optimise to the penny.

FAQ
Should min_price be at cost or above?
Above cost. Selling at cost burns money on every order (transaction fees, packaging, returns). Floor should preserve at least minimum contribution margin per unit.
