Why it matters
For variant groups where energy rating varies (e.g. different sizes of the same fridge model), this gives the lower bound. EU regulation requires accurate range disclosure on parent listings.
For variant groups where energy class varies across variants (e.g. different sizes of the same fridge model with different energy ratings), this declares the lower bound. Used together with max_energy_efficiency_class to express ranges; channels surface "C to A" style ranges in placements when min and max differ.
The EU regulation requires accurate range disclosure on parent listings — overstating the range (showing only the best class when most variants are worse) misleads consumers and gets the listing flagged for review.
For single-variant items, use energy_efficiency_class alone. The min/max range is specifically for variant groups, not for single items.

FAQ
Do I need this on single-variant products?
No — single-variant items just use energy_efficiency_class. The min/max range is for variant groups where the class varies.
